For business travel or pleasure, if you're headed for Nevada - click here for our database of overnight accommodations that include everything from inexpensive motels to luxury casino resorts and hotels. Nevada has it all!

For years, Nevada accommodations and cheap motels were synonymous to anyone driving across the desert floor. That has changed dramatically since the late 1960s - when Las Vegas began a gradual and then almost "gold rush" growth of its famous Las Vegas Strip and downtown Las Vegas area. But all that is in Nevada isn't just Las Vegas. The cities or areas you're most likely to (want to) visit include, of course, Las Vegas, but also - Reno, South Shore Lake Tahoe on the Nevada side - also referred to as the Stateline area, Virginia City, and Carson City. And if you ride a bike, be sure to visit Laughlin during the April River Run. All of these cities offer accommodations of one sort or another - but the extreme wealth pouring into the Las Vegas area these past few decades has insured that you'll have a wide range of hotel choices for your overnight stay.

When you visit Nevada, you can expect to find casino resort hotels, budget minded Motel 6 accommodations, business convention centers and convention hotels, gambling casinos, spa resorts, many downtown hotels, restaurant hotels, gay hotels, luxury resorts, luxury motels (many), family friendly hotels and motels and Monte Carlo style luxury accommodations.

Nevada was the 36th state admitted into the Union on October 31, 1864. It is the 7th geographically largest state in the US with a total area of 110,561 square miles - but almost nobody is home. Even people who live in Nevada aren't really "home". Nevada has a population of only 2 million people as of 2000 but is estimated to have already grown 17% through the end of 2004. In fact, the 2 million figure represents a 2/3rd s increase in state population over the 1990 census when it stood at about 1.2 million. Most people that live in Nevada are transplanted from somewhere else in the US - and a large percentage of them are employed by the hospitality and entertainment industry - and in Nevada, we all know where the center of that industry is.

Although Nevada doesn't have any professional sports, you can bet on every team in every sport in the US and throughout the world. Nevada is the center of the gaming industry in the US and has been and remained so for the past 75 years. It is unlikely that this will change for the foreseeable future. If you're a gambler, then you are going to think of Nevada - and probably Las Vegas - as your home away from home.
