Those of us that are gamblers and enjoy nightlife think of Las Vegas as a "Disneyland for adults." It is definitely a great place to come and play - and there is no doubt that you can get just about any kind of ride you're looking for. Contrary to popular promotional themes, however, the thing most likely to "stay in Vegas" is your money. When you book reservations in Las Vegas, it is probably going to be at one of the huge casino resort hotels along the Las Vegas Strip. To reserve a room at any of these casino hotels, click here or above. For your convenience, the really great casino hotels are:
- Luxor Hotel and Casino
- Excaliber Hotel Casino
- New York, New York Hotel Casino
- MGM Grand Hotel Casino
- Bellagio Hotel Casino
- Mirage Hotel Casino
- Treasure Island Hotel Casino
- Paris, Las Vegas Hotel Casino
- Mandalay Bay Hotel Casino
- Caesar's Palace Hotel Casino
- Venetian Resort Hotel Casino
- Aladdin Hotel Casino
- Monte Carlo Hotel Casino
- Wynn's Hotel and Casino
These aren't all the casino resort hotels, though. Off the strip you'll find the Four Queens Hotel Casino, the Fremont Street Hotel Casino, Golden Nugget Hotel Casino, and the Lady Luck Casino.
Since the mid 1990s, driving around Las Vegas in your own car has been somewhat of a challenge - particularly during those convention weeks and on weekends or long weekend holidays. Once you've occupied your room and are ready to dine out or go explore the "other" casinos, our suggestion is to go on foot during the early morning or evening hours. If you are headed from the upper end of the Strip down toward Fremont street (a long walk) - or it's during the day and hot outside… take a taxi. Las Vegas has a lot of hotels and other playgrounds and you'll enjoy your visit more if you aren't spending most of your time sitting in traffic or looking for a parking spot. Also - if you're with friends, you may find it just as convenient and cheap to simply use a limo. Surprisingly, limos aren't that much more expensive than taxis - but they're a lot more fun. If you're lucky enough to be with 2 or 3 other couples - then pool your resources and show off a bit by pulling up to wherever you're going in a stretch limousine. You go to Las Vegas to relax, gamble, see great shows, misbehave, and dine out. Every single resort hotel has at least one restaurant and most of them have many dining spots ranging from an inside deli counter to a five star dining experience. Breakfast, lunch, or dinner - it is unlikely that you'll be disappointed in the food. Also, however, there are numerous other restaurants not affiliated with a hotel, motel, or casino. Be sure to sample everything that you can when you stay in Las Vegas.
